kcurlLien Law Seminar – California has excellent lien laws that protect your right to payment – BUT you must do certain easy to do things BEFORE a problem arises. Learn how to get and keep your lien protection. This seminar is a MUST for the person in your office who is in charge of pre-liens and billing. Construction Attorney Cathleen Curl is the regional expert on construction litigation. March 10th  9AM until about Noon. Bring your questions! Learn about the new changes coming up in 2011. Flyer Here

smal claimsSmall Claims Court – How you can successfully pursue a case in small claims court. March 31st   9:30 to 11:30 AM. How many times have you had a customer who owes you a few thousand dollars and you just let it go because the amount is too small to be worth the expense of going to court? The person who didn’t pay often knows this too. It’s just too expensive to use our legal system for the small stuff. Unless you use small claims court! Construction Attorney Cathleen Curl gives you the information (and trade secrets) you need to successfully win in small claims court. Justice shouldn’t have a price tag and small claims court is here for you. Learn how to use it and get those small debts paid!

How to Work Effectively With Architects – Form the working relationships you need to maintain a profitable repeat business relationship. Architects are also a good source of referrals! Topics include Communication, RFI’s, Schedules and Change orders. Taught by an Architect and an attorney. At the Exchange, Wednesday, April 7th from 9:30 AM to about Noon. Please use the flyer

Return To Work – One of the best ways to help employees who are injured is to get them back to work as soon as possible. This is one of those “everybody wins” things you can do. Our friends at State Fund are holding a seminar on RTW (Return To Work) on March 10th in Pleasanton.  It is Free and they will even feed  you if you get there a little early. If you have employees you really need to go to this. If you have an injury and you are a member of one of our groups (571 and 713) we have a professional claims assistant to assist you and/or your broker if you need help and ask for it. We support hundreds of group members with SCIF worker’s comp.

Beach Blanket Babylon – What does that mean? It’s a play in San Francisco – In fact it is the longest running play in the country. It’s a musical with lots of outrageous stuff and you must bring your ID because no one under 21 is admitted (it’s a little risqué in spots). If you haven’t seen Beach Blanket and its outrageous costumes and hilarious spoof of pop culture you are missing one of Northern California’s most important cultural events. Tickets are only $44 and we go on May 6th. Sign up with the enclosed flyer.
